The Food Bank is lucky to have 17 diverse, insightful and passionate people make up our Board of Directors. They all bring their own experience, leadership and unique perspective on how to lead the fight to end hunger in our communities. As we focus on scaling and providing more nutritious food than ever before, we’re thrilled to welcome the three newest board members. who will help us realize our 3-year strategy plan.
Jenny Berten
Jenny is a graduate of the 2021 Speaker Series–the Food Bank’s advocacy training program. She works as a College Health Nurse at Saint Mary’s College of California. Her background, experience, and passion for food security will be highly valuable to our Board as we look for new ways to serve our neighbors in need.
Keva Dean
Keva works as an Eligibility Work Supervisor for Contra Costa County. She is a graduate of the 2021 Speaker Series, the Food Bank’s advocacy training program, and shares with us her lived experience of hunger and passion for food security. We are excited to work with her as we continue to lead the fight against hunger! Hear Keva in action!
Melissa Manke Fimbres
Melissa is the Director of Technical Services at Valero Energy Company, where she oversees operations, process engineering and process safety management. With over 18 years of experience, her expertise will help guide and inform our operations as we continue to grow our capacity to serve even more nutritious, whole food to our community.
