The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Asks the Community to Come Together for Our Neighbors and Help on Giving Tuesday
The Food Bank welcomes community members for its annual day of giving
CONCORD, CA (November (28) 2023 – For this year’s Giving Tuesday on November 28, the global day of giving, the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is asking community members to come together to help our neighbors in need. Giving Tuesday takes place just after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It provides the community with a chance to celebrate the joy of giving from the heart to help transform their communities. As the Food Bank continues to experience rising demand, it relies on the community’s support even more this year. To welcome community members on this significant day, the Food Bank provides Giving Tuesday tours at their Concord and Fairfield locations. These tours will offer a behind-the-scenes look at how the Food Bank operates and the impact volunteers make.
The Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano now serves 465,000 people a month on average, which is expected to increase by 20% during the holiday season. Rising food prices are a significant concern as the holidays approach. In response, the Food Bank and its 260 agency partners will distribute chickens, seasonal produce, and holiday-themed foods.
Local community members can make a significant impact next week:
- Reserve a tour: The Food Bank is welcoming anyone looking to support the Food Bank to reserve a tour to experience its operations during the holiday season. Tours must be reserved in advance.
- Donate: In partnership with Valero, every dollar donated up to $55,000 on Giving Tuesday will be matched! This means that every dollar will provide at least four meals for our neighbors in need.
