Chelo has overseen the Food Bank’s direct service programs since September 2020 and was promoted to the role of Director of Programs in February 2024. Chelo goes above and beyond to ensure quality of care for our neighbors. She was instrumental in guiding the Food Bank through its pandemic response and quickly adapted to support the community during a time of incredible need. Most recently, Chelo has helped implement cost-efficient solutions that continue to put our neighbors first.
Chelo’s prior experience includes managing training facilitation at Robert Half International and Protiviti, including coaching and mentoring individuals and teams across all levels of an organization. Chelo has a Master of Science in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco and is currently pursuing her EdD.
Chelo felt the call to serve in the hunger-fighting space after witnessing the importance of providing not just food, but also dignity and respect, to people in need. For the past ten years, she has volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, partnering with staff, community leaders, donors and vendors to serve those in need within her local community.
